I’ve just had a phonecall from Mark Zuckerberg who said he was kinda enjoying my music blog but the strapline “From Bach to Basic Channel” had yet to be fulfilled and he was thinking of taking me to court to make another billion (err, fiver).

So, in the spirit of the (Monty Python) contractual obligation post, I introduce you to brutal, minimalistic, techno; Berlin style. Almost everything on the Basic Channel imprint is flawless (and now available track by track as Amazon MP3s). This stuff, and anything on the Chain Reaction label, is the motherlode for European techno. A fine counterpoint to Transmat and the other classic Detroit labels.
