The Gaslight Anthem – 59 Sound (2008)
Not much to say about this. Perfect 21st century rock’n'roll. Personally approved by Bruce Springsteen. Speaking of whom, mental note to self to get The Boss on this blog, pronto.
It really gets no better than this.

Good Sir,
Apologies for my very late reply after my previous comment, I have been neglecting the world of punk rock to buy a flat, all very grown up and scary!! I remember yr mention of Gaslight Anthem…one of my favourite bands, I’ve been following them since they were on Sabot (once home to another of my favourites Against Me!) I remember being so excited to see Gaslight at Hard Rock Calling in London and missing them due to traffic, and then having to ‘sit’ through (read: ignore) Dave Matthews Band, waiting ever patiently for Bruuuuuuuuuuce!! And getting to see one of my heros (even though he didn’t play Thunder Road, bit upset!) So, we come full circle to the point of this post, Brian Fallon singing back up on my favourite Springsteen song, ‘No Surrender’, you may have seen this, you may of been there, but please enjoy regardless:
Following on from that, some friends of mine from the fair state of Indiana, USA, have a band that is a bit of Springsteen worship, I’d be intrested to know what you think:

And then the lead singer of Good Luck, Ginger, also tours the US, secretly, with Paul Baribeau, playing Bruce covers:

And you should also check out Paul’s music cuz it’s pretty profound at times:

Until next time, take care! Chris
Hi Chris
Thanks for taking the time to post this; particularly as you have been facing the existential crisis of buying a flat! – “All property is theft” as Proudhon observed, “Deal with it” I think he added in the original draft!
Enjoyed all your links but especially the Paul Baribeau tracks. Reminds me of Lou Barlow’s Sentridoh, Jonathan Richman and the New Bad Things (check here on the blog for them ….

Liked the PB track so much, I’ve just bought the CD on Amazon!
