New Order – Temptation (1982)

Possibly the greatest record ever made. I can remember buying the 12 inch single from some back street record shop in Hong Kong following a tip off from my “friend in New York”. Always difficult to track the latest UK releases in Hong Kong, this record remains as fresh as the day it was recorded. With three of the four original Joy Division members on duty, it set the scene for a decade of alternative/indie/dance genius.

Two versions, the original 12″ and then an extraordinary performance live from the bowels of the BBC in 1984. Barney was not a happy bunny. Mind you, those shorts do look very tight.
