Gabriel Yared – C’est Le Vent, Betty (from “Betty Blue) (1986)

In 1986 I was living in Manchester and my other half spent an inordinate amount of time at the Cornerhouse, the arts centre and cinema that opened the previous year. I didn’t go along very often but two films I particularly remember were Down By Law and Betty Blue. I have already posted a Tom Waits track from the former (check here for the classic, Jockey Full of Bourbon) and felt honour bound to post this wonderful piece from the latter.

Two versions. The first is the great “two pianos” sequence where Betty and, err, the bloke, pick out the tune while in a music shop. The second is the more polished version from the soundtrack.
