Ryan Adams – Anybody Want To Take Me Home (2003)
Sunday evening is always a good time for a spot of “Alt.Country” inspired rock’n'roll.
As already posted on this blog, this genre was invented by The Ramones in 1978 (check spurious case for this statement here).
Ryan Adams started in Whiskeytown and then went solo releasing several really consistent LPs which had few weak tracks and always two or three stellar tracks. This is taken from the classic 2003 LP “Rock’n'Roll”. A real Morrissey/Marr influence on this – the chiming guitars are utterly timeless.
(Mental note to post a few track from The Smiths soon. Their absence is becoming a matter of controversy).
Three versions. From the LP, a full band version from 2006 and an acoustic set from a Dutch record shop in 2003.
