Billy Bragg – The Saturday Boy (1984)
Just had to post this tonight for two reasons:

Secondly, because the previous Bon Iver post reminded me of what a potent combination a guitar and horn can be (trumpet in this case).
Taken from Billy’s first “proper” album, Brewing Up With Billy Bragg released in 1984, this is a classic tale of teenage failings – with wit and wistfulness and a wry reflection.
In the end it took me a dictionary to find out the meaning of unrequited …
I’m sticking with the LP version on this, plenty of dodgy live versions on YouTube. If there’s a good one, tell me and I’ll add it!
Wait – LP version erased … best of a bunch of dodgy live versions!
