Bon Iver – For Emma (2007)
Bon Iver’s debut LP “For Emma, Forever Ago” is one of the best albums of the last decade.
It came out around the same time as the Fleet Foxes LP and, while people were going mad over the latter, the Bon Iver album always seemed to me to be the more substantial.
Sparse and soulful.
I could have picked Skinny Love or Flume or any of the tracks to be honest. But, there is something about this track that I just needed to hear tonight. Listening now, I’d forgotten the horns as being so prominent. Just beautiful.
The LP track then a very intimate live performance on the streets of Montreal.
