Nouvelle Vague – Guns of Brixton (2004)
Okay, how many “ironic” plates can you keep spinning at the same time?
I’ve been tiptoeing around the whole, knotty, reggae cover version/punk cross-over for a few posts but now is the time to dive headlong into simple cheese, schtick and irony-laden French post modernism. Or something.
Heard this while driving around Northern France on some formidably empty, motorway like toll roads.
Sounded great at the time.
Still sounds great.
A French lounge version of the Clash classic. What could possibly go wrong?
