Built To Spill – Joyride (1994)

This blog and my Facebook page have been overwhelmed (flamed, no less) by irate punters asking me to post less 1950s rock ‘n’ roll genius and, instead, focus attention on wildly unpopular US lo-fi/indie types.

Now, you gotta understand that this blog is a blog of principle, a musical statement that stands up for truth and awkward messages. 

Having said that, I am no fool. If a quarter of my followers tell me to change direction (you know who you are, sir) then I will have to do so.

I’m prepared to be Hosni Mubarak but not Muammar Gaddafi.

So, with the context set, I welcome you to a series of posts to keep the NATO guns silent.

I start with the early noodlings of the “later to be huge” Built to Spill. I just loved this stuff in 1994 and I haven’t moved on!
