Sammy – Babe Come Down (1994)
Okay, my not overly popular indie rock night continues.
I’m worried about the ratings but, when you’re flatlining near zero, anything is worth a go.
I used to buy tons of this lo-fi stuff in the early 1990s. The kings of the genre were Pavement, Sebadoh and the Silver Jews but there were legions of US underground bands who released the odd great record. Almost all were showcased on the John Peel programmes.
Sammy were a typical example, a couple of zero selling LPs, a couple of great singles. This is their debut single from 1994. Still sounds great!
