The National – About Today (2004)

One of our great characters left the office last week.

Fantastic Kiwi; bone dry wit; smart as they come.

The New Zealand link meant that we compared many Flying Nun related notes over the years (and I’ve posted a few classic NZ bands here, here, and here!)

Spookily, we independently both named this track as a worthy tribute to him on the blog … The National have released a series of classic LPs but this is their best track.

Start with the LP version then graduate to a beautiful live reading (first 2:15 are a little quiet but then ….)
