Can’t believe I’ve not yet posted anything by The Pogues.

And so many to choose from – Sally MacLennane, Dirty Old Town, The Band Played Waltzing Matilda, etc.

But, why not start here. Saw The Pogues supporting Elvis Costello at Manchester Apollo in late ’84. They were great but were eclipsed by a stunning performanace by Declan MacManus. However, there is quite simply no faulting a song that kicks off with the lines …
