Can – Vitamin C (1972)

This song has the best drumming ever heard on any song ever. Jaki Liebezeit take a bow please.

Taken from the rather erratic “Ege Bamyasi” LP released in 1972; no right thinking person could fail to acknowledge that, whatever their preconceptions, this record provides the underlying “business case” for the existence of Krautrock.

The drums are unreal; the bass, otherworldly, and; the vocals, gratifyingly, impenetrable. Damo Suzuki hits his career peak ….

Her daddy got a big aeroplane,
Her mommy holds all the family cash,
A beautiful blows, I stay at the corner,
She is living in and out of tune.

Hey you,
You’re losing, you’re losing, you’re losing, you’re losing your vitamin C.
Hey you,
You’re losing, you’re losing, you’re losing, you’re losing your vitamin C,
Your vitamin C.

The LP version then a remarkable live snippet.
