Husker Du – Divide and Conquer (1985)

Ok, I’ve had enough of this synth pop business calling into question my hard earned punk rock credentials (err, not sure exactly how I earned said credentials and who with  …). But, no matter.

The moment has come to cleanse the palate. Husker Du were one of the great bands of the 1980s and I invite you to enjoy them at their peak. Divide and Conquer from the 1985 LP “Flip Your Wig” is not just punk rock mayhem at its finest but, also, another entry into the newly formed relentless category of rock’n’roll music. Prepare to tap those toes.

An awesome track, glad I found your blog! ROAR!!!!!! Can’t beat a bit of Bob having a reet good bellow. My very late Sunday evening is made, dusting off Metal Circus in preparation for pogo’ing around the kitchen.

I trust the kitchen survived intact! Need to get some more Husker Du onto the blog – Books About UFOs and Hardly Getting Over It are early candidates. Also need to wheel in the Minutemen, Minor Threat, etc … This is going to be a full time job!

Couple of busted floor tiles and the smoothie maker has bitten the dust but other than that it’s still standing 🙂 Both also excellent tracks. Never got around to listening to the Minutemen but heard lots about them so will be interested to see what you post up. Ah but a most worthy full time job nonetheless, Aural liberation!!

Oo meant to say, met Grant Hart when he was touring with Nova Mob. Horrible wet night in darkest Birmingham with only a couple of people showing up. Very nice chap indeed. Didn’t like Nova Mob on LP but live they were pretty damn good.
