Booker T. and the M.G.’s – Green Onions (1962)

What better way to get into the Easter holiday mood than to worship at the shrine of the greatest instrumental in rock’n’roll history (apart from Miserlou, perhaps). An extraordinary record from 1962, predates the Beatles and has a bass, guitar, organ combination that has never been bettered.

Two takes for your pleasure. The original vinyl release from 1962 then a great live performance by original guitarist and bassist Steve Cropper and Donald ‘Duck’ Dunn from 2008!
